LEGAL / PRIVACY
Privacy Policy
1. Who this policy applies to
This Privacy Policy explains how Lost & Found Limited, operating the Terra Signal publication, handles personal information connected with visits to farawaybrothers.com. It is written for visitors in Australia and is intended to reflect the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 where those requirements apply to our activities. The site is primarily an editorial publication and referral page; it does not process product orders or take payment for the metal detector described in the article.
Lost & Found Limited is the organisation responsible for the handling practices described here. Our contact details are set out at the end of this policy and in the Contact page.
2. Information we may collect
When you visit the site, technical information may be created automatically as part of normal web delivery. This can include an IP address, browser and device information, approximate region derived from network information, date and time of access, referring page, pages viewed, campaign or referral parameters contained in a URL, and basic server diagnostic records. We may also receive information you choose to send to us in correspondence, such as your name, email address and the content of your message.
We do not ask visitors to create an account, submit an order form or provide payment-card details on this site. If you follow a product link to an external seller, any information you provide there is handled by that seller under its own privacy terms.
3. Why we handle information
We may use technical records to deliver pages securely, diagnose faults, measure broad site performance, understand which editorial pages are useful, prevent misuse and maintain the integrity of the site. Referral parameters may be used to understand campaign performance and the source of visits. Correspondence information is used to answer the message, maintain a record of the enquiry where reasonably necessary, and protect our legitimate interests in managing communications.
Where the Australian Privacy Principles apply, we take reasonable steps to collect only information that is reasonably necessary for our functions or activities and to manage it openly. We do not use sensitive information for advertising personalisation.
4. Direct marketing
Terra Signal does not operate an email-subscription or marketing-signup form on this landing page. If we communicate directly with a person in a context that amounts to direct marketing, we will provide an appropriate method to opt out and will respect a valid opt-out request as required by applicable law.
5. External retailers and other third parties
The product CTA sends visitors to an independent retailer website. Clicking that link means your browser connects to the retailer and the retailer may collect technical or transactional information according to its own privacy policy. Product availability, checkout, delivery, payment, warranty administration and returns take place outside Terra Signal.
Our pages may load infrastructure supplied by third parties that support ordinary website functions, such as font delivery or hosting. Service providers may process limited technical data on our behalf or as independent controllers, depending on the service and their terms. We do not authorise service providers to use information for unrelated purposes where they act on our behalf.
6. Overseas disclosures
Lost & Found Limited is established in the United Kingdom and the external product seller may operate outside Australia. As a result, personal information or technical records may be processed in countries outside Australia. Where APP 8 applies, we take reasonable steps appropriate to the circumstances before disclosing personal information overseas, subject to the exceptions and qualifications in the Privacy Act.
7. Retention and security
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably required for the purpose for which it was collected, for security and audit needs, or to meet legal obligations. Routine technical logs are periodically rotated. Correspondence may be kept for longer where it records an unresolved issue, consent, legal matter or important operational decision.
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to reduce the risk of misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No internet transmission or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
8. Access, correction and privacy enquiries
Where applicable, you may request access to personal information we hold about you or ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. We may need to verify your identity before responding. Some legal exceptions may permit or require us to refuse a request; if that occurs, we will provide the reasons where the law requires us to do so.
Privacy enquiries can be directed to: Lost & Found Limited, Address:10 Bedford Hill, London, SW12 9RG; [email protected]; +61297237684. Contacts shown on this site are intentionally presented as plain text.
9. Cookies and similar technologies
Information about cookies, browser storage, campaign parameters and related technologies is provided in our Cookie Policy. Browser controls can be used to block or remove cookies, although some website functions may be affected.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our practices, services or applicable requirements change. The date at the top of this page shows the latest revision. Material changes will be reflected in the published policy before or when the updated practices take effect.
